COLUMBUS, Ohio - Members of the Ohio State men's volleyball team earned a spot on the 2013 U.S. Men's Junior National Team (MJNT), USA Volleyball announced. Junior Michael Henchy and redshirt freshman Driss Guessous were named to the 12-player roster, while junior Brennan Anderson secured an alternate spot.
The final 12-player roster was chosen from a field of 22 after a tryout period in Southern California, June 16-20.
At the helm of the team is Ohio State head coach Pete Hanson. He is joined by Penn State assistant Jay Hosack and Pacific assistant Jonah Carson. Ohio State team statistician Jake Shick is serving as the national team's technical assistant.
The MJNT will represent the United States this summer at the U21 Pan American Cup July 12-20 in Costa Rica. In August, the team will reconvene at the U.S. Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs to train for the FIVB Volleyball Men's U21 World Championship held in Ankara and Izmir, Turkey, Aug. 22-Sept. 1.
