COLUMBUS, Ohio -- An unexpected opportunity arose Sunday afternoon when Ohio State was selected to host the NCAA Men's Volleyball Championship's Opening Round Match 1, opening the doors to St. John Arena for one more match in 2018. The Buckeyes will play host to King University on Thursday (April 26) at 7 p.m. ET. Both teams enter with an overall season record of 23-5. The winner advances to compete against UC Irvine (21-9) at Pauley Pavilion in Los Angeles, Calif., Tuesday (May 1).
Two-time defending national champion Ohio State earned its spot in the NCAA Tournament by winning the MIVA Tournament for the third year in a row. The Tornado were victors of the Conference Carolinas Tournament.
