Neary Named MIVA Defensive Player of the Week

COLUMBUS, Ohio - Middle blocker Dustan Neary picked up MIVA Defensive Player of the Week honors on Tuesday (Apr. 8). It marks the first weekly conference accolade of the junior's career.
Neary finished with 12 blocks over nine sets played for a 1.33 average. He also finished with 16 kills and picked up back-to-back matches with double-digit points. Highlighting his weekend was his performance against IPFW Friday night. The Ventura, Calif., native tied a career-high in the match with seven total blocks, finishing with one solo and six assists.
He added eight kills and two digs for the Buckeyes along with a .727 attack percentage. In the team's four-set win at George Mason Sunday, Neary totaled five blocks against the Patriots and chipped in eight kills and two more digs.
The Buckeyes wrap up the 2014 regular season on Friday (April 11) with a home match versus Loyola. Action is set to begin at 7 p.m. ET inside St. John Arena.
