COLUMBUS, Ohio - Sophomore Brennan Anderson of the No. 10 Ohio State men's volleyball team was named MIVA Defensive Player of the Week, the league announced Monday. The honor is the first of Anderson's career.
The libero notched a career-high 12 digs in Ohio State's season-opening win over Saint Francis Saturday to lead all student-athletes in the match. In addition, Anderson successfully passed all 18 serves faced and added a career-best three assists in the victory.
The Buckeyes travel to Hawaii for the 2013 Outrigger Tournament held in Honolulu, Jan. 10-12. Ohio State faces host Hawai'i, No. 5 UCLA and No. 7 Penn State during the three-day tournament.
