Dennis Signs Class of Four for 2018-19

The Ohio State track and field program and director of track & field and cross country, Karen Dennis, signed four athletes to National Letters of Intent during the November signing period.

The class features four athletes (two men and two women) made up of two sprinters, one distance runner and a thrower.

Listed below are the signees with their personal records and accolades.

Britten Bowen – Ann Arbor Pioneer High School
60m – 7.61
100m – 11.58
200m – 25.34
60m hurdles – 8.50
100m hurdles – 13.40

  • 2016 and 2017 MHSAA Division I state champion in the 100m hurdles
  • Placed 13th in the 100m hurdles at the 2017 New Balance Nationals
  • Finished sixth at the 2017 MHSAA Division I State Championships in the 100m dash with a time of 12.36
  • Anchor leg of the 4x100m relay team that finished third at the 2017 MHSAA Division I State Championships with a time of 47.75
  • Claimed gold at the 2016 MITS State Meet with a 8.96 in the 60m hurdles
  • Lead leg of the 4x100 and 4x200m relays at the 2016 MHSAA Division I State Championships that garnered silver with times of 47.12 and 1:38.48

Nick Miller – Wadsworth High School

  • 2017 New Balance Nationals Indoor Champion in the mile (personal best of 4:16.85)
  • Placed fourth at the 2017 OATCCC State Championships in the 800m run (1:58.21)
  • Earned a sixth-place showing in the 1,600m run at the 2017 OHSAA Division I State Championships

McKenzie Long – Pickerington Central High School

  • Earned silver in the 200m dash at the 2017 OHSAA Division State Championships with a time of 24.15
  • Won six individual races between the 100m dash and 200m dash during 2017
  • Helped the 4x100 and 4x200m relay win 11 titles in 2017 

Dylan Litreal – Hilliard Darby High School

Hammer – 169-4.25

  • Took second place at the 2017 USATF Ohio Association Junior Olympic Championships with a personal-best hammer throw of 169-4.25 in the 17-18 age group
  • Claimed gold at the 2016 USATF Region 5 Junior Olympic Championships in the hammer (145-7.75)
  • Placed 12th at the 2016 USATF National Junior Olympic Championships in the hammer throw with a toss of 123-1.50
  • Competed at the 2016 USATF National Junior Olympic Championships in the discus and shot put
