COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Ohio State men's track and field team hits the road for the first time this season, traveling to Bloomington, Ind., for the Gladstein Invitational Jan. 18-19.
The Friday-Saturday event is scheduled for noon ET Friday and 10 a.m. ET Saturday at Indiana University’s Gladstein Fieldhouse. Follow the action with live scoring at www.iuhoosiers.com. A complete recap will be available after the meet at www.OhioStateBuckeyes.com.

Scarlet and Gray Ranked No. 31 in USTFCCCA Preseason Poll
Ohio State checked-in at No. 31 in the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) preseason rankings, released Jan. 8.
Seven Big Ten teams are featured in the Top 50: No. 7 Indiana, No. 8 Minnesota, No. 12 Wisconsin, No. 18 Penn State, No. 28 Michigan State, the Buckeyes, and No. 42 Illinois.
Buckeyes in the Individual Top 25
Seven members of the men's track and field team find themselves ranked within the Top 25 in several event areas nationally according to Track & Field Results Reporting System (TFRRS.org). A look at where the Buckeyes sit:
• Cory Kunze – No. 8 in the heptathlon
• Heath Nickles – No. 12 in the heptathlon
• Chris Fallon – No. 11 in the mile
• Nick Batcha – No. 14 in the 200m
• Champ Page – No. 14 in the 400m
• Timothy Faust – No. 16 in the 200m
• Jack Kincade – No. 24 in the heptathlon
2013 Recruiting Class Ranked No. 2 in Nation
Ohio State’s freshman class was recently ranked No. 2 in the national and tops in the Big Ten Conference by Track and Field News.
"I'm extremely excited about this incoming class of freshmen and what each of them will bring to the squad," Ohio State head coach Ed Beathea said. "It is an honor to get this high recognition from Track and Field News. It is a testament to our staff and the hard work they put into recruiting. We are looking forward to seeing these young men perform for the Scarlet and Gray come January."
The highly touted incoming class of freshmen is headlined by Donovan Robertson, Billy Stanley, Joseph Velez, and Page. The class also includes newcomers Armand Austin (sprints), Bryce Blake (pole vault), Eric Metoyer (sprints/hurdles), Nick Pupino (distance), Jordan Redd (distance), Steven Weaver (distance) and Kincade (multi-events).

Ohio State opened the 2013 season in front of its hometown fans Jan. 11 at French Field House.
Highlights from the Buckeye Classic included Michael Hartfield’s personal-best mark in the triple jump (7.98m/26-2.25), Batcha’s double win in the 60m and 200m and Fallon’s impressive season-opening time in the mile (4:13.05).
The Buckeyes travel to Lexington, Ky., for the McCravy Memorial Invitational Jan. 25.
