Blanks Places Seventh in 400 Hurdles at the NCAA Championships

COLUMBUS, Ohio – Freshman Antonio Blanks earned First Team All-American honors with a seventh-place finish in the 400-meter hurdles Friday evening at the 2012 NCAA Outdoor Championships in Des Moines, Iowa.

Blanks, a native of Dayton, Ohio, crossed the finish line in a time of 50.49 to pick up two team points for the 19th-ranked Buckeyes, who sit 53rd overall through 14 events. Stanford’s Amaechi Morton captured the national title in 48.79.

Ohio State closes the 2012 season tomorrow afternoon at Drake Stadium as Matt DeChant and Cory Leslie compete for championships in the shot put and 3000m steeplechase. Competition resumes at 11:00 a.m. ET, with ESPNU offering live coverage beginning at 12:00 p.m.
