COLUMBUS, Ohio -- The 30th edition of the Jesse Owens Track & Field Classic was one to remember.

Five meet records, four stadium records and two NCAA-leading performances were witnessed by the crowd at Jesse Owens Memorial Stadium Friday and Saturday. With over 100 alumni in attendance along with former coaches Russ Rogers and Mamie Rallins, picture perfect weather greeted fans over the two days of competition.

"This was a great weekend for our program," Karen Dennis, Ohio State director of track & field and cross country, said. "We had a great meet after a challenging week of finals and a trip to the Drake Relays. The weather could not have been better, the crowd was fantastic and it was great seeing so many alums, friends and former coaches. It was a great environment for all of the teams."

Record-setting performers for the weekend included Michigan State senior Leah O'Connor in the 1500-meter run with a stadium- and meet-record time of 4:11.04, the No. 1 time in the NCAA this season; Bowling Green senior Brooke Pleger in the women's hammer throw championship with a stadium- and meet-record throw of 69.49 meters (228-0.00), the No. 1 mark in the NCAA this season; Kristen Hixson in the women's pole vault with a stadium- and meet-record height of 4.40 meters (14-5.25); and Kimberley Hamilton in the women's javelin with a meet- and stadium- record throw of 53.37 meters (175-1.00).

Timothy Faust was the top individual performer for the Buckeyes on Saturday. The senior from Harvey, Ill., claimed individual titles in the men's 100- and 200-meter dashes and anchored the men's 4x100-meter relay team to a first-place finish.

"Tim is really coming along in the sprints," Dennis said. "He is rounding into form and looks like he will be peaking at just the right time. He had a great day."

OSU went unbeaten in four relay events, opening the day with a sweep of the 4x100-meter contests and closing the meet with wins in both the men's and women's 4x400-meter races. The women's relay teams were especially strong, with the 4x4 finishing in a meet- and stadium-record time of 3:34.03 and the 4x1 crossing the line in a season-best time of 44.45, the fastest time in the Big Ten this season, a Top-20 Division I performance and the No. 5 time in the OSU record book.

Buckeye athletes were victorious in both the men's and women's 400-meter dashes.  The women's race was won by junior SoSo Walker, who posted the fastest time in the Big Ten this season and a Top-20 time nationally (52.79). Junior Champ Page claimed first place in the men's competition with a time of 46.51.

Junior Donovan Robertson earned his first win of the season in the men's 110-meter hurdles with a season-best time of 13.93 seconds.

In the men's collegiate hammer throw, sophomore Aaron Zedella set a new personal best with a throw of 62.32 meters (204-5.00) to capture first place. Zedella now ranks fourth all-time in the event in OSU school history.

Sophomore Nick Schrader cleared a personal-best height of 5.20 meters (17-0.75) to earn runner-up honors, equaling the No. 2 outdoor mark in OSU school history.

Other highlights:
· Sophomore Rachel Weber ran a season-best time of 2:07.99 to place fourth in the 800-meter run.
· Junior Alyssa Gary set a new personal-best in the shot put championship, clearing 15.19 meters (49-10.00) for fourth place.
· Sophomore Jared Fleming (1:50.26) and Anthony Johnson (1:50.80) finished second and fourth, respectively, in the men's 800-meter run.
