Stanley Wins Again at Spec Towns National Team Invite

COLUMBUS, Ohio – Sophomore Billy Stanley picked up his third win in the javelin in as many weeks, highlighting the weekend trip to Athens, Ga., and the Spec Towns National Team Invitational for the Ohio State men’s track and field team.
Stanley cleared 72.97 meters (239-5.00), defeating the runner-up athlete by over 21 feet. The South Park, Pa., native is currently ranked No.5 nationally in the event with a mark of 74.38 meters (244-0.25) set at the Vanderbilt Black and Gold Invitational in March.
Sophomore Julian Vann was also a winner for the Buckeyes, posting a season-best mark of 15.48 meters (50-9.50) in the triple jump. Senior Demoye Bogle captured first in the 110-meter hurdles in a time of 14.38.
Other Buckeye highlights:
Junior Timothy Faust placed fourth in the 100 in a time of 10.53 seconds and sixth in the 200 in 21.12 seconds.
Freshman Lamar Bruton was third in a season-best time of 47.11 seconds.
Runner-up honors went to senior Jordan Rispress in 52.86 seconds.
Freshman Anthony Johnson completed his race in a runner-up time of 1:52.26.
Fourth place went to sophomore Jordan Redd in a time of 3:54.77.
Senior Tyler Borton cleared the bar at a personal-best height of 5.10 meters (16-8.75) for a sixth-place finish.
A throw of 17.29 meters (56-8.75) helped sophomore J.C. Murasky to sixth place.
Ohio State completed its race in a runner-up time of 40.34 seconds. Georgia was the winner in 39.58 seconds.
The Buckeyes were second in a time of 3:10.49, just shy of the winning time from Rutgers (3:10.49).
