Ohio State Men Victorious at the FSU Relays

COLUMBUS, Ohio -- The Ohio State men's track and field team was victorious in its outdoor season opener at the FSU Relays in Tallahassee, Fla., this weekend, amassing a team score of 152 to defeat host and ninth-ranked Florida State, Miami (Fla.) and North Carolina.

Ohio State won a total of five events over two days of competition, highlighted by a personal-best throw of 19.36 meters (63-6.25) from redshirt junior J.C. Murasky in the shot put,  a performance that ranks fourth in Ohio State outdoor history and second in Division I so far this season.

Reigning Big Ten indoor freshman of the year Zack Bazile captured the long jump title with a mark of 7.56 meters (24-9.75), the fifth-best jump in Division I this season. Bazile also set a massive personal best of 15.38 meters (50-5.50) to finish third in the triple jump, the sixth-best performance in DI this season -- three of the top-six marks for the 2015 outdoor season were set at the meet.

Also picking up wins for OSU was junior Champ Page in the 400-meter dash (46.99), redshirt junior Antonio Blanks in the 400-meter hurdles (52.49) and sophomore Anthony Johnson in the 800-meter run (1:52.92). Page's winning time ranks seventh in the country so far this season.

The Buckeye women placed third overall with 146 points behind No. 9 FSU (187) and No. 19 Miami (161). North Carolina was a distant fourth with a team score of 49.

Senior Chesna Sykes won the 100-meter dash in 11.94 seconds and helped the 4x100-meter relay team to a first-place time of 45.81.

In the field, senior Abie Ehimwenman won the triple jump with a 12.45-meter (40-10.25) leap, good for 13th in Division I this season. Junior Allie Missler picked up a win in the javelin in her Buckeye debut, clearing a personal-best 45.04 meters (147-9.25), ranking her No. 2 all-time in the event at Ohio State behind Maggie Mullen.

Other notable performances:
· Junior Alyssa Gary posted a personal-best throw of 15.04 meters (49-4.25) in the shot put, earning runner-up honors and a Top-25 performance nationally.
· Senior Bianca Walton was a runner-up in the triple jump at 12.09 meters (39-8.00).
