COLUMBUS, Ohio -- The Ohio State men's track and field team completed its last chance weekend at the Alex Wilson Invitational in Notre Dame, Ind., Saturday evening.
The two-day event was highlighted by a second-place and season-best long jump of 7.65m (25-1.25) from Korbin Smith, a distance that ranks the senior 17th in Division I this season. New Mexico's Kendall Spencer matched Smith at 7.65m but claimed first place overall after setting the mark on an earlier attempt.
Big Ten 200m champion Timothy Faust followed up his conference title run with a second-place time of 21.21 in his signature event. Stephen Newbold of Florida State took first in 21.05 seconds.
Chris Fallon and the 4x400m relay team also represented Ohio State at Notre Dame. Fallon turned in a 20th-place time of 4:06.38 in the mile, while the 1600m relay placed eighth in a time of 3:08.31.
