Bogle a Runner-up in the 60 Hurdles at Don Kirby Elite

COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Ohio State men’s track and field team competed at the Don Kirby Elite Invitational in Albuquerque, N.M., and the SPIRE Division I Team Invitational in Geneva, Ohio, Friday and Saturday afternoon.
In the premier event of the weekend, the 60-meter hurdles at New Mexico, senior Demoye Bogle claimed runner-up honors in a time of 7.66, .01 second behind his school-record time and .06 second off of the winning time from Aleec Harris of USC (7.60). Redshirt freshman Donovan Robertson posted a college personal-best time of 7.68 in the preliminary round.
Other highlights from the weekend:
Freshman Lamar Bruton was fifth in a season-best time of 47.21, followed closely by sophomore Champ Page in 47.40, also a season best. The winning time of 46.34 came from Jermaine Brown of Triple Crown.
A season-best time of 48.76 helped sophomore Armand Austin to fourth place. Miami’s Anthony Wolliston was first in 48.29.
Fourth place went to senior Jordan Rispress in 1:21.78. Wayland Baptist’s Dewayne Booker placed first in 1:19.33.
A personal-best mark of 15.23 meters (49-11.50) helped sophomore Julian Vann to an eighth-place finish. Troy Davis of Chula Vista was the winner at 16.39 meters (53-9.25).
Pole Vault (SPIRE)
Runner-up honors went to senior Tyler Borton at 4.90 meters (16-0.75). Michigan State’s Codi Mattix was first, clearing the bar at 5.10 meters (16-8.75).
Page, Rispress, Bruton and senior Javon Walker placed third in 3:08.43. Oregon placed first in 3:06.78.
Ohio State returns to action next Friday, Feb. 21, as hosts of the Buckeye Tune-up. Events begin at 4 p.m. ET at French Field House. Admission is free.
