Final Results 

Columbus, Ohio - For the second season in a row, Sade Olatoye started her season off by setting a school record. To get the 2018 season going, Olatoye tossed the shot put 17.34m (56-10.75) to claim gold in the event. After tonight's meet, Olatoye now holds three school records (indoor/outdoor shot put and weight throw). With her throw of 17.34m today, Olatoye secures the second farthest throw in the nation this year. Olatoye also claimed gold in the weight throw with a toss of 21.32m.

Cole Gorski etched his name in the record books tonight with a personal best mark. Gorski finished tonight's meet as the school record holder in pole vault with a clearance of 5.40m (17-8.50). Gorski is now the sole record owner of both indoor and outdoor pole vault. Gorski also holds the second best marking in the nation this year.  


 

 

Sophomore Taylor DeLoach claimed three golds in the 60m dash, 200m dash and long jump. DeLoach got her night started by clocking a personal best time of 7.51 in the 60m dash. In the long jump, DeLoach clinched the win by more than one foot and a half. The Georgia native also claimed another gold on the track in the 200m dash with a time of 25.69.

 In addition to the six titles from DeLoach, Gorski and Olatoye, the Buckeyes came away with 15 other first-place finishes at the Buckeye Classic. The Buckeyes finished with sweeps in the mile (Paul Bete - 4:16.02, Kalee Soehnlen - 5:01.67), 400m dash (Keilan Beacham - 50.53, Tamani Wilson - 57.02), 600m run (Tyrese Fajardo - 1:23.70, Karrington Winters - 1:32.68), 60m dash (Nick Gray - 6.66, Taylor DeLoach - 7.51) and high jump (Jacob Arter - 1.86m, Alexus Pyles 1.60m).

Gray's time of 6.66 in the 60m dash broke Anthony Cole's French Field House record time of 6.69 that he clocked in 2007. In addition to the French Field House record, Gray's time ranks as the second-fastest in the NCAA this year and it's tied for the second-fastest time in school history.

The other five winners were Aaron Zedella with a throw of 21.02m in weight throw, Nick Demaline with a heave of 19.70m in shot put, Chantel Ray with a time of 8.36 in the 60m hurdles, Halimah Barlow in 300m dash (38.90) and Clayton Bowie in the 3,000m run (8:30.96).

The Buckeyes will make the short trip down to Lexington, Ky., next Friday and Saturday (Jan. 12-13) for the Kentucky Invitational.
