Buchanan and Rola will vie for an NCAA Doubles title following the team championship in Athens, Ga.

COLUMBUS, Ohio - Chase Buchanan and Blaz Rola, members of the No. 3 Ohio State men's tennis team, were selected to compete in the field of 64 singles players and field of 32 doubles teams for the 2012 NCAA Championships, the NCAA Division I Men's Tennis Subcommittee announced Wednesday.
Buchanan and Rola earned the No. 1 seed in the doubles championship, while individually they were at-large selections in the singles tournament.
Earning the ninth seed, Buchanan currently is on a 12-match win streak. With a 27-6 overall record, including a 20-3 mark in dual action at Nos. 1 and 2 singles, Buchanan was a unanimous First Team All-Big Ten selection for the third consecutive year in 2012. Also for the third consecutive season, Buchanan recorded a 10-0 record in league play.
Also a First Team All-Big Ten selection, Rola has won a team-best 30 matches this season. With a 22-4 dual record, Rola posted an 8-2 mark in the league. At Nos. 1 and 2 singles, Rola is 9-2 and 13-2, respectively, and boasts a 13-5 ledger vs. nationally ranked opponents.
In doubles, Buchanan and Rola are 29-3 overall and post an impressive 20-3 ledger in dual action. With all their doubles wins taking place at the No. 1 position, the pair is 14-1 vs. nationally ranked opponents. During fall tournament play, the tandem won the D'Novo/ITA All-American Doubles championships and the prestigious USTA/ITA National Indoor Intercollegiate Doubles title.
Ohio State will host the First and Second Rounds of the NCAA championships in Columbus May 12-13. The Buckeyes, the No. 5 seed, will welcome Notre Dame, Vanderbilt and East Tennessee State.
