COLUMBUS, Ohio– Peter Kobelt, a member of the Ohio State men’s tennis team, dropped a 7-5, 6-1 decision to No. 6 seed Alex Domijan of Virginia in the singles final of the 2012 ITA All-American Championships Sunday at the Case Tennis Center in Tulsa, Okla. Kobelt, a redshirt junior from New Albany, Ohio, won five consecutive matches, including a pair of wins over two seeded players, in the main draw en route to the final.
In consolation singles play, Tampa, Fla., native and senior Connor Smith lost in the final to Jonas Lutjen of Mississippi, 6-3, 6-4. Smith won four consecutive matches in the back draw before suffering the loss to Lutjen.
The USTA/ITA Midwest Regional Championships is up next for the Buckeyes. The event will begin Oct. 18 in East Lansing, Mich.
