2016-17 (Sophomore)

Had a singles record of 17-12 overall and a 13-9 mark in dual matches … Led the team with 27 doubles victories and was 22-2 in dual matches … Was ranked in every doubles poll this season and finished the year ranked No. 40 … Was ranked as high as No. 25 in the doubles rankings … Was undefeated in Big Ten doubles matches and was 3-0 at the No. 1 doubles spot … Beat No. 55 Shawn Hadavi of Columbia in three sets at the season-opening ITA All-American Championships … Advanced through qualifying in doubles with Di Feo at the A-A Championships before losing in the opening round of the main draw … Defeated the No. 28 ranked team of Jordan Daigle and Justin Butsch from LSU in the consolation round … Won both his singles matches in two team victories over Oklahoma, first at the ITA Indoors and then at home in early March … Had a 5-2 record in Big Ten singles matches and was one game away from winning his match against Kevin Wong of Michigan in the Big Ten Tournament Championship match … Picked up a big 7-5, 6-2 victory over George Hedley of Louisville in the second round of the NCAA Tournament … Lost just twice in doubles with Di Feo during the dual match portion of the year and had three wins over ranked teams … Was 6-0 in conference play and 17-2 at the No. 2 doubles spot.

Won a pair of singles matches at the ITA Midwest Regional Championship and then advanced to the semifinals of the doubles draw with Steinbach ... Was a perfect 3-0 at No. 6 singles at the ITA Indoor Team Championships and was named to the All-Tournament Team ... Claimed his 9th victory of the spring with a 6-3, 6-4 win over Andrew Biro in the Buckeyes win at No. 13 Oklahoma ... Claimed a 6-3, 6-3 win over Michigan's Myles Schalet and also picked-up his second-straight doubles win with Torpegaard against the Wolverines, topping No. 39 Alex Knight and Runhai Hua ... Picked up his second singles victory at the No. 5 spot with a 6-1, 6-0 win over Lucas Dages at Purdue ... Finished his first trip through the Big Ten undefeated in singles play ... Won all three of his singles matches in the Big Ten Tournament helping lead the Buckeyes to the title ... Continued his win streak in singles, winning his first two NCAA Tournament matches … With the team match tied 3-3, he won a thrilling three-set match against Texas’s John Mee to send the Buckeyes onto the quarterfinals … Swept J.T. Nishimura of Cal 6-3, 6-2 to finish the year.
