COLUMBUS, Ohio - The 2012-13 Ohio State men's swimming and diving schedule has been set and will feature six dual meets and three regular season invitationals. The Buckeyes will be hosting five regular season meets and two invites during the season.
"We are excited about the challenge of our schedule," men's head swimming coach Bill Wadley said.
Ohio State opens the year with its annual Scarlet and Gray meet Oct. 19 at the McCorkle Aquatic Pavilion followed by its alumni vs. varsity meet Oct. 20. The team then hosts Kenyon and Cleveland State in the lone co-ed tri-meet Oct. 26. The Buckeyes start November at home with back-to-back dual meets against Denison Nov. 2 and Miami Nov. 9, respectively. Ohio State also will be sending swimmers for a dual meet at Tennessee Nov. 9.
The squad will then hit the road for the Cleveland State Invite Nov. 16-18. After a two week break, the team will host the eighth-annual Ohio State invitational Nov. 30-Dec. 2. Florida, North Carolina, Indiana and Wisconsin will bring both their men's and women's groups.
The Buckeyes will then finish out the year away from Columbus at the USA Nationals Nov. 29-Dec. 1 in Texas before heading south to train in Boca Raton, Fla., Dec. 13-21.
The month of January features three meets with two competitions being at home. The Buckeyes will face Wright State Jan. 11 followed by a conference road trip for a tri-meet at Indiana Jan. 19 with Iowa also competing in the water. The squad will then return to Columbus for its final home dual meet vs. Cincinnati Jan. 26.
Ohio State will gear up for postseason action with a dual meet at Big Ten-rival Michigan Feb. 1-2 to begin the final month of the regular season. The team will then host the Ohio State Winter Invitational Feb. 9-10 in Columbus.
Ohio State travels back to Bloomington, Ind., for the 2013 Big Ten Men's Swimming and Diving Championships Feb. 27-March 2 and then will host the Ohio State Last Chance meet March 10. NCAA Diving Zones are set for March 14-16 in West Lafayette, Ind. All qualified swimmers and divers will then compete at the 2013 NCAA Men's Swimming and Diving Championships in Indianapolis, Ind., March 28-30.
