  • First Team All-Big Ten (2014)
  • Current school record holder in the 200 freestyle from 2014 Big Ten Championships, as well as on the 400 freestyle relay team from the 2014 NCAA Championships.
  • Fourth place in the 100 freestyle at the 2014 Big Ten Championships (42.95), the second-fastest mark in school history
  • Third in the 400 freestyle relay at the B1G Championships in a school-record time of 2:51.68
  • A member of the Big Ten champion 200 freestyle relay team that clocked a 1:17.93
  • Earned honorable mention All-America status as part of the 400 freestyle relay team that placed ninth at the NCAA Championships
  • Had Ohio State season-best times in the 50 freestyle, 100 freestyle and 200 freestyle
  • A OSU Scholar-Athlete and Academic All-Big Ten member

Steven Zimmerman
Morrow, Ohio
Major: Nutrition

  • Posted Ohio State season-best time in the 200 individual medley (1:45.84) at the Ohio State Invitational
  • Qualified for the NCAA Championships in the 200 backstroke with a season-best time of 1:41.66 at the Georgia Tech Last Chance Meet
  • Placed 26th at the NCAA Championships in the 200 backstroke
  • Qualified for three individual events at the 2013 NCAA championships, including the 100 backstroke, 200 backstroke and 200 individual medley

Connor McDonald
Lake Oswego, Oregon
Major: Health Sciences

  • School record-holder in the 200 backstroke (1:40.74), set at last year's Big Ten Championships
  • Second Team All-Big Ten (2014)
  • Member of 400 medley relay team that set a school record with a time of 3:06.63 to place second at the Big Ten Championships
  • Big Ten Swimmer of the Week on Nov. 26 after winning three events at the Ohio State Invitational
  • Two-time NCAA qualifier (2013, 2014) who placed 21st in the 200 backstroke and 27th in the 100 backstroke in 2014
  • Swam at the 2012 U.S. Olympic Trials, competing in the 100 and 200 backstroke events

 

 

Nick Wrightson
Lexington, Ky.
Major: Biology

  • Swims primarily butterfly and freestyle events for the Buckeyes
  • Won the 200 freestyle at the 2014 Ohio State Winter Invite with a season-best mark of 1:39.64
  • Had a season-best time of 49.66 in the 100 butterfly and 1:51.57 in the 200 butterfly at the Ohio State Invitational
  • Competed in seven meets as a sophomore in 2012-13, including two wins (500 freestyle vs. Denison, 200 freestyle vs. Miami)

Tamas Gercsak
Budapest, Hungary
Major: Finance

  • Has developed into one of the Buckeyes' best in butterfly and individual medley events
  • Holds the school record in the 200 butterfly with a time of 1:43.54, set at the 2013 NCAA Championships
  • Season-best time of 1:44.79 in the 200 butterfly at the Big Ten Championships to place seventh
  • Clocked a school-record time of 3:44.98 in the 400 individual medley at the Big Ten Championships, good for sixth place
  • Qualified for the 2014 NCAA Championships in the 400 individual medley where he finished 29th (3:47.72). Also competed in the 200 butterfly, taking 29th place (1:45.03)
  • Earned Honorable Mention All-America status in two events (200 butterfly, 400 IM) at the 2013 NCAA Championships
  • Academic All-Big Ten honoree

Rowan Williams
Ottawa Hills, Ohio
Major: Logistics Management

  • Specializes in distance freestyle and backstroke events for the Buckeyes
  • Qualified for the 2012 U.S. Olympic Team Trials in the 200 backstroke
  • Swam in the 800 freestyle relay at the 2014 NCAA Championships and helped the team finished in 16th place while earning honorable mention All-America honors
  • Had the Buckeyes' best time in the 500 freestyle last season (4:18.64) and second-best in the 1650 freestyle (15:09.45).
  • Finished 10th in the 1650 free and ninth in the 500 free at the Big Ten Championships

Stephen Ettienne
Waterbury, Conn.
Major: Criminology

  • Narrowly missed qualifying for the NCAA Championships in 2014
  • Fourth in the 3-meter dive, fifth in the 1-meter dive and eighth in the platform dive at the NCAA Zone Diving Qualifier at the McCorkle Aquatic Pavilion
  • Third in the 1-meter dive at the Big Ten Championships
  • Two-time Big Ten Diver of the Week (Oct. 29, Feb. 4)

Chris Cowley
Krugersdorp, South Africa
Major: Neuroscience

  • Assists the Buckeyes in the breaststroke, particularly the 200 event.
  • Season-best times of 54.59 and 1:57.83 in the 100 and 200 breaststroke, respectively, during the 2013-14 season
  • Both of his season-best times came at the Big Ten Championships
  • Academic All-Big Ten and OSU Scholar-Athlete

Sean Monahan
Cincinnati, Ohio
Major: Speech and Hearing Science

  • Specializes in distance freestyle and individual medley events for the Buckeyes
  • Swam a 9:33.40 in the 1000 freestyle vs. Kenyon Oct. 25, a season-best time
  • Clocked a 4:34.31 in the 500 freestyle and 15:44.98 in the 1650 free at the Big Ten Championships
  • Finished second in the 1000 free in a 177-99 victory over West Virginia (1/31)
  • Academic All-Big Ten and OSU Scholar-Athlete

Dmitry Dolgov
Powell, Ohio
Major: Exercise Science Education

  • A versatile swimmer for the Buckeyes, competing in freestyle, breaststroke and individual medley events
  • Qualified for the 2012 U.S. Olympic Trials in the 200 breaststroke
  • Had team top-five teams in three events - 200 breaststroke (1:58.58), 200 individual medley (1:47.10) and 400 individual medley (3:47.81)
  • Season best times in the 200 and 400 individual medley came at the 2014 Big Ten Championships
  • Academic All-Big Ten and OSU Scholar-Athlete

Alex Osterhage
Dayton, Ohio
Major: Human Resources

  • Primarily competes in distance freestyle events for the Buckeyes
  • Top-10 team times in the 500 freestyle (4:29.03), 1000 freestyle (9:28.95) and 1650 freestyle (15:50.01)
  • First in the 1000 free in a 159-106 victory over Wright State
  • Season-best time sin the 500 free and 1650 free came at the OSU Invitational and Big Ten Championships, respectively
  • Academic All-Big Ten and OSU Scholar-Athlete

Dominic Pecze
Amherst, Ohio
Major: Education-Sport Industry

  • Adds depth to Ohio State's backstroke contingent
  • Season-best times of 50.12 in the 100 backstroke (OSU Winter Invite) and 1:50.00 in the 200 backstroke (OSU Winter Invite)
  • Earned a win at the Ohio State Winter Invite in the 200 backstroke with a time of 1:50.87 as a sophomore in 2013
  • Academic All-Big Ten and OSU Scholar-Athlete

Gavin Trebilcock
Canfield, Ohio
Major: Finance

  • Swims individual medley and breaststroke events for the Buckeyes
  • Swam as season-best 55.55 in the 100 breaststroke at the 2014 Big Ten Championships
  • Also clocked a 2:00.82 in the 200 breaststroke at the conference championship meet, a season best
  • Competed in eight meets over the course his sophomore season, including the season opener vs. Kenyon and Cleveland State
  • Dropped a personal-best time of 55.49 in the 100 breaststroke at Ohio State's Last Chance NCAA Qualifier
  • Academic All-Big Ten and OSU Scholar-Athlete

Andrew Braun
Louisville, Ky.
Major: Biology

  • Qualified for the 2012 U.S. Olympic Trials in the 200 breaststroke
  • Specializes in breaststroke and individual medley events for the Buckeyes
  • Won the 200 breaststroke vs. Michigan with a time of 1:58.77. Also claimed victory in the 200 breast vs. West Virginia (1/31)
  • Swam the 100 breaststroke in 57.17 at the Ohio State Invitational
  • Would like to attend medical school after graduation
  • OSU Scholar-Athlete

Keanu Stevenson
Newburgh, Ind.
Major: Civil Engineering

  • Specializes in the breaststroke
  • Qualified for the 2012 U.S. Olympic Trials in the 100 breaststroke.
  • Two-time NCAA qualifier
  • Had the Buckeyes' second-best time in the 100 breaststroke (54.06) and sixth-best time in the 200 breaststroke (2:00.31) last year
  • Both times occurred at the Ohio State Invitational
  • Honorable mention All-America for his role in the 400 medley relay and 200 medley relay as a sophomore

John Zucca
Hudson, Ohio
Major: Electrical and Computer Engineering

  • Specializes in breaststroke events for the Buckeyes
  • Had a season-best time of 56.10 in the 100 breaststroke and 2:03.06 in the 200 breaststroke at the Big Ten Championships
  •  Finished second in the 200 breaststroke (2:09.94) vs. Wright State
