Ettienne Takes Fifth in 1-Meter Dive at NCAA Zone Qualifier Meet

COLUMBUS, Ohio – Junior Stephen Ettienne continued his stellar performance at the NCAA Zone C Diving Qualifier by placing fifth overall in the 1-meter dive on Friday afternoon at the McCorkle Aquatic Pavilion.
Ettienne, who was fourth in the 3-meter dive yesterday, had a total score of 667.65. Emad Abdelatif of Indiana won the event with a score of 685.25, followed by Lane Rogers of Purdue (685.15), Joseph Coumos of Notre Dame (683.20), Jamie Bissett of Purdue (671.45) and Ettienne. In the preliminary round, Etienne scored a 330.0, good for second place.
In the women’s 3-meter dive, junior Taylor Ford, a native of Ann Arbor, Mich., was 10th overall with a final score of 575.25. Kaizuan Zhang of Southern Illinois won the event with a final score of 709.90.
Action concludes tomorrow at McCorkle with the men’s and women’s platform dive.
