COLUMBUS, Ohio - Junior Shane Miszkiel and redshirt sophomore Cheyenne Cousineau have qualified for the NCAA Swimming and Diving Championships through their performances after day one at the NCAA Zone Diving meet at Purdue University. With their two invitations, the Buckeyes now have a combined 22 student-athletes competing at the championships.
Cousineau, a native of Temperance, Mich., claimed a third-place finish in the Zone meet in the three-meter springboard with a total score of 632.30. Cousineau will now have opportunities to make NCAAs in both the 1-meter and platform events Friday and Saturday, respectively.
Miszkiel, a native of Victoria, British Columbia, placed third in the one-meter springboard with a total score of 761.10 points. Miszkiel will also have the chance to move on to compete at the NCAA championships in both the 1-meter and platform events this weekend.
Prelims Friday of the men's three-meter springboard and women's one-meter springboard begin at 1 p.m. ET in West Lafayette, Ind.
