Ohio State Divers Compete at Eastern Michigan

YPSILANTI, Mich. – While the Ohio State swimmers did not make their scheduled trip to Eastern Michigan on Saturday due to the weather, the Buckeye divers did compete against EMU and Ball State.

On the men’s side, junior Stephen Ettienne took first place in the 3-meter dive with a final score of 339.5. His score meets NCAA qualifying standards. Freshman Alex Gonzalez was seventh (229.25). In the 1-meter dive, Ettienne placed fourth (292.35) while Gonzalez was fifth (278.45).

In the women’s events, junior Taylor Ford was third in the 1-meter dive (268.00) and fifth in the 3-meter dive (255.80). Freshman Beth Dzwierzynski finished sixth in the 3-meter dive (232.75).

The Buckeyes return to action next weekend, Jan. 31-Feb. 1. The men host West Virginia on Friday, Jan. 31 and No. 1 Michigan on Saturday, Feb. 1. The women compete against Nebraska and No. 21 Michigan on both Friday and Saturday.
