COLUMBUS, Ohio - Junior Ohio State diver Shane Miszkiel earned the Big Ten Conference’s Diver of the Week award for the fourth time in 2012-13, the conference announced Tuesday.
Miszkiel has now won six career weekly awards and becomes the first men’s diver to earn at least four Big Ten laurels in a season since former Boilermaker and 2012 Olympian David Boudia accomplished the feat during the 2010-11 campaign. A native of Victoria, B.C., Miszkiel posted first in the one-meter springboard (380.55) and three-meter springboard (457.28) in a dual win vs. Wright State last weekend. With his season-high total on the three-meter, Miszkiel has now claimed seven event wins this year.
No. 6 Ohio State opens Big Ten competition this weekend on the road at Indiana Saturday in a tri-meet against the Hoosiers and Iowa in Bloomington, Ind.
