Ohio State will be hosting the 2018 Women’s Big Ten Swimming and Diving Championships at McCorkle Aquatic Pavilion from Feb. 14-17. Volunteer opportunities are listed below:
Get in the action today and register to be a volunteer Lane Timer or Race/Awards Assistant at ohiostate.volunteermatch.org.
Lane Timers – Lane timers stand pool side and operate a stopwatch and a plunger tied to the timing system hitting the button when the swimmer finishes the race. No timing experience or swimming knowledge is needed to volunteer. A short training session will be provided upon arrival to the meet. Volunteers stand at the edge of the pool and should have good reaction times to hit a stopwatch/plunger.
Race/Awards Assistants – Race Assistants will support the athlete parades prior to the start of each finals race. Awards Assistants will help conduct the awards ceremonies immediately following each finals race.
Volunteers must be available for the whole time slot they sign up for. Volunteers will receive a free volunteer shirt, and volunteers will be provided parking passes and free meals for each shift they work.
If a swim club wants to volunteer as a group, please reach out to Sarah Hall (firstname.lastname@example.org) for further inquiries.
