Alexi S. Kuska enters her first year as an assistant swimming coach for the The Ohio State University's Men's Swimming program after serving as a 2012-13 Asst. Varsity Coach, Men's and Women's Swimming, at the University of Chicago and as a University Clinic and Swim Camp Coach at the University of Richmond and SMU, respectively.
While at the University of Chicago, Kuska was a member of the 2012-13 UAA men's and women's varsity coaching staff that was named Women's Coaching Staff of the Year and Co-Men's Coaching Staff of the Year. The University of Chicago swimmers wrapped up the UAA Swimming & Diving Championships with a historic second-place finish for the women and a third-place showing by the men; Kuska worked in all aspects and with all training groups of the program focusing a core effort on the middle-distance and distance swimming groups.
During the 2012-13 season, the Maroons' men's and women's swimming squads both earned inclusion the 2013 College Swimming Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) Scholar All-America Teams. Additionally, 16 Maroons were picked as CSCAA Individual Scholar All-Americans and 16 qualified for Division III, NCAA National Championships.
In addition to serving as a varsity assistant coach, Kuska also coordinated the University of Chicago Community Swim School Program, through which she served as the Meet Director for all high school meets and Co-Meet Director for many of the Collegiate Invitationals hosted at Myers-McLoraine Pool.
Prior to her season with the University of Chicago Maroons, Kuska worked under the guidance of Danielle Tansel at SMU Swim Camps and as a University of Richmond Community Swimming Clinic Coach from 2010-2012.
Kuska enjoyed successful Division I and USA Swimming careers as a member of the University of Richmond Spiders (2008-12) and Berkeley Aquatic Swim Teams, where she competed on record breaking 800-freestyle relays and in the distance freestyle events. Kuska is a member of the 800-freestyle relay squad that holds the current Atlantic 10 record, was an Atlantic 10 Champion in the 1650 freestyle and also a New Jersey record holder as a member of the 2007, Junior National Silver Medalist 800-freestyle relay team. Kuska served as a senior captain for the Richmond Spiders and is an eight-time High School All American.
Kuska graduated from University of Richmond in 2012, with a Bachelor's Degree in Psychology, and also serves as the head coach of the Scioto Country Club age group swim program.
