Seventy-Three Ohio State Student-Athletes Receive Fall Academic All-Big Ten Honors

COLUMBUS, Ohio - Seventy-three Ohio State fall student-athletes have been named to the Academic All-Big Ten team, the Big Ten Conference announced Wednesday. In all, 869 fall sports student-athletes were recognized across the conference from field hockey, football, men's and women's cross country, men's and women's soccer and women's volleyball programs. To be eligible for Academic All-Big Ten selection, student-athletes must be letterwinners who are in at least their second academic year at their institution and carry a cumulative grade-point average of 3.0 or higher.
Ohio State sophomores Minori Minagawa and Rebecca Rings of the women's cross country team were two of 20 conference student-athletes who have maintained perfect 4.0 grade-point averages.
For Ohio State, the football team was first with 19 honorees, women's cross country was second with 14 selections and 12 women's soccer student-athletes were honored. The field hockey team placed 10 on the list, with nine men's soccer players lauded, followed by men's cross country (5) and women's volleyball (4).
