COLUMBUS, Ohio – Abdi Mohamed, a junior midfielder on the Ohio State men’s soccer team, was named a third team All-Midwest Region selection, the United Soccer Coaches Association announced recently.
Mohamed, from Worthington, Ohio, collects his first career regional laurel after being named a second team All-Big Ten selection. The OSU midfielder led the team with 11 points on three goals and five assists. He started in all 19 games, shutting down opposing attacking players and has collected a team-high 40 shots, including 15 on goal. Two of Mohamed’s three goals came on penalty kicks this fall.
