COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Big Ten Conference announced the bracket Saturday night for the 2013 Big Ten Men’s Soccer Tournament. Ohio State is the sixth seed and will face third-seeded Michigan State in the quarterfinals at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 13 at 2 p.m. ET at Bert L. & Iris S. Wolstein Field at Jesse Owens Memorial Stadium.
The Buckeyes (5-7-5, 1-3-2 B1G) and Spartans (10-4-3, 3-2-1 B1G) tied, 1-1, in double overtime Oct. 13 in East Lansing, Mich.
After winning its second-consecutive title, Penn State earned the No. 1 seed and first-round bye of the tournament. The championship will be hosted by Ohio State University, with the opening-round matchups beginning Wednesday, Nov. 13.
Wisconsin earned the No. 2 seed after concluding the regular season with a 4-2-0 conference record. The Badgers will face No. 7 Northwestern in Wednesday’s final game at 7 p.m. ET. The two teams previously met on Nov. 3, with Wisconsin defeating the Wildcats, 1-0.
Michigan garnered the No. 4 seed with a 3-3-0 conference record. The Wolverines will face off with No. 5 Indiana in the tournament’s second game at 4:30 p.m. ET. Michigan defeated the Hoosiers, 2-1, when the two teams previously met on Oct. 26.
The top-seeded Nittany Lions will face the winner of the Michigan-Indiana matchup at Noon ET in Friday’s first semifinal game. The second semifinal game will begin at 2:30 p.m. ET, while the championship match will be held Sunday at 2 p.m. ET.
