COLUMBUS, Ohio – Abdi Mohamed, a junior midfielder on the Ohio State men’s soccer team, was named a second team All-Big Ten selection, the conference office announced Friday afternoon. Senior back Hunter Robertson was named the team’s Sportsmanship Award Winner.
Mohamed, from Westerville, Ohio, collects his third straight league honor after being a second team honoree in 2016 and an all-freshman selection in 2015. The OSU midfielder leads the team with 11 points on three goals and five assists. He’s started in all 17 games, shutting down opposing attacking players and has collected a team-high 38 shots, including 13 on goal. Two of Mohamed’s three goals came on penalty kicks this fall.
Robertson, also a native of Westerville, Ohio, received the teams Sportsmanship Award. Robertson has started in played in every game since he arrived on campus in 2014. Last time out, he became the third Buckeye since 2003 to record at least 80 starts in his OSU career.
