COLUMBUS, Ohio - Nine freshmen make up the Ohio State men's soccer team's rookie class, named No. 29 in the country by College Soccer News prior to the season. The group is the fourth-highest ranked class in the Big Ten behind No. 7 Indiana, No. 8 Michigan and No. 28 Northwestern.
From College Soccer News:
John Bluem has added a solid group of newcomers who should help the Buckeyes get back into the NCAA Tourney field after being absent for the past two seasons. Forwards Christian Soldat who played for the Dallas Texans and Danny Jensen who played with the Weston FC should add a little punch to the offense. Back Diego Aguirre out of the Weston FC is a solid addition to the defense. Bluem did a good job of landing a class that includes more than the average number of very promising players.
All eight freshmen field players have seen action so far this preseason with many expected to play an integral role in the Buckeyes’ regular-season campaign.
