COLUMBUS, Ohio - - The 15th-ranked Ohio State men's soccer team dropped a 1-0 decision to Siena in the Penn State Classic in University Park, Pa., Monday afternoon. The Buckeyes are now 0-1-1 on the young season, while the Saints improve to 1-1-0.

Joe Miner scored for Siena in the 33rd minute and Ohio State was unable to overcome the deficit, despite holding a commanding 28-7 advantage in shots on the day. Chris Hegngi led the charge with eight to this credit, including four in the final 13 minutes of regulation. The Buckeyes would post a total of 12 shots after the 70-minute mark, but none would find the back of the net.

They had a similar unlucky stretch in the opening period, rattling off seven unanswered attempts before Siena countered and Miner found the inside of the far post from 14 yards out off assists from Sindre Ek and Joshua Vlasich. The Saints produced two more shots before the intermission, one of which was stopped by Buckeye goalkeeper Matt Lampson, who finished with two saves. Coming out of the half, it was all about the Buckeyes. They out-shot Siena 19-4 and had a 7-0 edge in corners (13-2 overall).
