Coach Bluem on Summers: "Dalton is a real solid player, a fighter and a tough kid. You can't go wrong with him and you know what you're going to get out of him each and every game. He's very athletic and hardnosed, a tough guy that can play in games."

At a glance: High work rate ... dependable and steady ... tough player, mentally and physically, with the ability to control the right side of the backfield.

As a junior(2010): Played in 15 games, starting 13 of them at right back ... logged 982 minutes of playing time, averaging 65 per contest ... took two shots, placing one on goal ... played important role on Big Ten-best defense that allowed just 0.72 goals-against average with 10 shutouts.

As a sophomore (2009): Named to the Wolstein Classic All-Tournament team ... started in 19 of 20 games played, logging 1,620 minutes ... had one assist on Chris Hegngi's game-winning goal vs. Butler (Sept. 18) ... attempted four shots during the season with one on goal ... integral part of defense that posted 10 shutouts on the season and limited opponents to a 0.73 goals-against average for the season.

As a freshman (2008): Aided the defensive unit, coming off the bench in 17 of his 19 games played ... started two games for the Buckeyes, recording 148 minutes in those games in which no opposing goals were allowed ... picked up his first assist vs. Furman Sept. 14. Carmel United Academy: Four-year academy team member ... prior to joining Carmel United was a member of Indy Burn for two years ... Murray Cup and state finalist in 2006.

Noblesville H.S.: Three-year starter ... all-state performer (2006-2007) ... two-time sectional champion (2006-2007) ... team MVP senior season ... two-time captain.

Personal: Son of Barry and Lori Summers ... siblings include Race, Barrie, Lorrie and Jensen ... plans to start his own business and coach youth soccer upon graduation ... enjoys reading in his spare time ... biggest pre-college athletic thrill was winning sectionals his senior year.
