As a sophomore (2012): Appeared in 16 games, while making five starts and playing 684 minutes... Recorded third and fourth career assists vs. Davidson (Sep. 2) and a week later at San Diego State (Sep. 9)... Named Academic All-Big Ten and a OSU Scholar-Athlete for the second-consecutive season.
As a freshman (2011): Played in 18 games, including 12 starts in the midfield ... First career goal was a strike from 22 yards out to give the Buckeyes a 2-1 victory over Oakland (Oct. 26) ... Tallied an assist in a home game vs. Binghamton (Sept. 11) ... Recorded 13 shots, with seven on goal ... Received Academic All-Big Ten recognition as well as Ohio State Scholar-Athlete honors.
Prior to Ohio State: A four-year starter for Brother Rice, helped lead team to two league and district titles, as well as the 2009 Division 1 state championship ... Had eight goals and 13 assists during the title run as a junior in 2009 and seven goals and 14 assists in his 2010 senior campaign, serving as captain both years ... Also was the kicker on the Brother Rice football team, in addition to lettering in basketball and track.
Personal: Son of Walter and Theresa ... Has two siblings, Kristin and Amanda ... Enjoys playing Call of Duty, listening to music and watching movies ... Dreams of one day playing professional soccer ... Lists kicking a 35-yard field goal to win the football game vs. rival De La Salle as one of his greatest sports moments ... Volunteered to help children learn to read at elementary schools in Detroit.
