COLUMBUS, Ohio - Jesse King, a junior on the Ohio State men's lacrosse team, was named the ECAC Offensive Player of the Week Monday. King, a native of Victoria, British Columbia, had a team-best four goals, two assists and six points against Penn State Saturday in Ohio Stadium.
Against the Nittany Lions, King, who was named to the Tewaaraton Award Watch List last week, had his fourth career four-goal game and fifth-career six-point game. King had an assist in the first half and a goal in the third quarter before taking over with three goals and an assist in the fourth quarter in the game vs. Penn State.
King leads the ECAC and the Buckeyes with 13 goals and 19 points this season, ranking 12th in the NCAA in points per game (4.75) and 14th in goals per outing (3.25). He extended his point streak to 27 games, with 53 goals, 35 assists and 88 points in the stretch. In 36 games as a Buckeye, King has 61 goals, 38 assists and 99 points.
Up next, King and the Buckeyes travel for back-to-back road games, taking on Hofstra at 1 p.m. Saturday in Hempstead, N.Y., and Denver at 3 p.m. ET March 15. The squad will then return to Columbus for games in Jesse Owens Memorial Stadium vs. Bellarmine March 21, Notre Dame March 25 and Jacksonville March 29.
