COLUMBUS, Ohio – Sophomore Christian Feliziani has been named this season’s first Big Ten Specialist of the Week, the conference office announced today.
Feliziani, a native of Boothwyn, Pa., won a career-high 10 of 12 face-offs and picked up three groundballs in last Saturday’s 13-6 victory over Cleveland State. The 10 face-off wins were a career high and helped the Buckeyes pull away in the third quarter as they scored six times to open up a five-goal lead.
Feliziani and freshman Justin Inacio teamed to control play in the face-off X, winning 18 of 22 – including all six in the first quarter and 10 of 12 in the second half.
No. 8 Ohio State (1-0) hosts No. 20 Boston University (1-0) in its home-opener on Saturday inside the Woody Hayes Athletic Center at noon. The game is expected to sell out and fans are encouraged to purchase tickets ahead of time.
