COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Ohio State men’s lacrosse team, ranked preseason No. 7 in Face-Off Yearbook, is into its second week of practice as it prepares for the 2014 season. The defending ECAC tournament champion squad begins its slate with three scrimmages, starting with a matchup against Hill Academy Saturday. The team will also host Navy Jan. 25 and Robert Morris Feb. 1 before opening the regular season at Johns Hopkins Feb. 9 and vs. UMass in the Moe’s Southwest Grill Classic in Jacksonville, Fla., Feb. 16. The Buckeyes’ regular-season home opener is Feb. 22 vs. Marquette.
Face-Off with Ohio State Lacrosse Saturday
The Buckeye lacrosse programs will host Face-Off with Ohio State Lacrosse Saturday inside Woody Hayes Athletic Center. The FREE event includes a chance to watch both the women’s and men’s teams in game action and an interactive fan fest filled with lacrosse activities for all ages. Parking is free around the facility. Space is limited, so be sure to arrive early!
The day begins at 8 a.m. with an intrasquad scrimmage for the women’s lacrosse program and ends with the men’s lacrosse program taking on Hill Academy at noon in its first scrimmage of 2014.
From 10-11 a.m., fans are invited onto the WHAC field for a meet and greet with members of the men’s and women’s programs and activities. Student-athletes from both teams will be at stations where youth – who are welcome to bring their lacrosse sticks – can test out their lacrosse skills. There will be a chance to ‘Dress Like a Buckeye,’ a bouncehouse, register to win opportunities and more.
Buckeyes Set to Face Hill Academy
Ohio State will take on Hill Academy, based in Vaughan, Ontario, at noon Saturday inside Woody Hayes Athletic Center. A Canadian prep school whose lacrosse team is comprised of high school post grads, the team faced Division I schools Rutgers, Lehigh, Robert Morris and others in the fall.
Tickets on Sale NowTickets to Ohio State men’s lacrosse regular-season games (except the Showdown in the Shoe April 12 vs. Michigan) are now on sale. Seating inside Woody Hayes Athletic Center is extremely limited and fans are encouraged to prepurchase tickets to the games vs. Navy (Jan. 25), Robert Morris (Feb. 1) and Marquette (Feb. 22) as all three days are expected to sell out prior to gameday.

Ohio State will play in three facilities on the Ohio State campus this spring. The first four – vs. Hill Academy, Navy, Robert Morris and Marquette - are slated for inside Woody Hayes Athletic Center. The Buckeyes will host Penn State in Ohio Stadium March 1 before three games in Jesse Owens Memorial Stadium vs. Bellarmine (March 21), Notre Dame (March 25) and Jacksonville (March 29). The squad will take on Michigan and Air Force in Ohio Stadium April 12 and April 19, respectively. (Note sites are schedule to change pending weather/field conditions.)
