Jud Hall, who spent the past three seasons as the volunteer coach for the Ohio State men's lacrosse team, has been promoted to director of player development for the program. In his new role, Hall will serve as the team's life skills director, oversee the community service efforts and manage all camps and clinics. He will retain responsibility for the team's man down defense and goalies.

"Jud has been an incredibly important member of our coaching staff over the past three seasons and has made a significant impact on our men both on and off the field," Nick Myers, Ohio State head coach, said. "He has consistently shown a relentless approach to improve as a coach and has a very bright future in Division I ahead of him. We are excited we have the opportunity to promote Jud and add the life skills and community outreach coordinator responsibilities to his plate for this upcoming season."

As the life skills director, Hall will organize speakers and workshops for the team throughout the year. Plans are underway for seminars in resume building, career networking, financial planning, nutrition education and more.

In the community, members of the program have volunteered more than 1,800 hours the last three seasons combined. The Buckeyes work with a number of programs and groups, from the Ronald McDonald House, to Second and Seven Foundation and the World War II Honor Flight.

"I am very grateful to Coach Myers and the Buckeye family for the opportunity I have had here over the past three years," Hall said. "I am very excited to add the life skill development component to my role and look forward to doing all I can to continue helping the young men and the Buckeye lacrosse program."

With the Buckeyes, Hall has mentored two goalies to three all-league accolades. Greg Dutton finished the 2012 season in the Top 7 nationally in both goals-against average and save percentage and was 16th nationally in 2013 while this past season, Scott Spencer, who took over as the starter midway through the year after Dutton suffered a season-ending injury, was second in the ECAC in both gaa and sv%. The man down defense ranked 11th in the NCAA in 2012 and Hall helped guide the Buckeye clearing game to a .918 percentage in 2014, ranking third in the NCAA.

A native of Upper Arlington, Ohio, Hall is a 2011 graduate of Ohio Wesleyan University, where he was a team captain as both a junior and senior. Hall was a part of back-to-back North Coast Athletic Conference championship squads in 2010 and `11 and the team participated in the NCAA tournament all four years (2008-11). He was a first team all-league selection in 2010 and an honorable mention choice in 2009. Hall earned his bachelor's degree from OWU in sociology and anthropology and also completed a minor in history.

At Upper Arlington High School, Hall was a member of state championship teams in 2005, `06 and `07. The Golden Bears won the 2007 Midwest title and were Midwest runner-up twice. He was a high school All-American in 2007.
