In all, 25 players were named to the All-America squads as selected by members of the AHCA, with Jobst one of six forwards, and one of three from the Big Ten, on the west teams.
Jobst, a First Team All-Big Ten selection, led the Big Ten and is seventh in the NCAA with 55 points (eighth with 1.41 points per game), the most points for a Buckeye since 1998. Jobst had 36 assists, tying for second in the NCAA and ranking sixth in assists per game (.92), and recording the most helpers for an Ohio State skater since 1992. Jobst averaged an NCAA-best 1.62 points per game over the second half of the season and had a point in all but three of the last 24 games. The Big Ten co-Scoring Champion with 34 points in 20 Big Ten games, he led the Buckeye forwards with 31 blocked shots and won a Big Ten best-478 faceoffs, taking a league-high 871 draws.
In 74 career games with the Scarlet and Gray, Jobst has 85 points on 31 goals and 54 assists. His 1.15 career points per game average is third among 2016-17 NCAA sophomores/juniors/seniors and he is third among 2016-17 sophomores in career points.
Jobst had 21 assists and 30 points on the power play in 2016-17 as the Buckeyes led the NCAA with the man advantage, converting 31.6 percent of their chances (the only team above 28 percent). The squad was third in the NCAA in scoring offense, averaging 3.92 goals per game, and was second nationally with 153 goals.
A real estate and urban analysis major from Speedway, Indiana, Jobst is an Academic All-Big Ten selection and a two-time Ohio State Scholar-Athlete.
Jobst earns the 10th AHCA First or Second Team All-America honor for the Buckeyes and is the first since forward Ryan Dzingel was a first team honoree in 2014.
The Buckeyes' First Team All-Americans are forwards Dzingel, Hugo Boisvert (1998) and Paul Pooley (1984) and goalie Brady Hjelle (2013). Boisvert was also a Second Team All-American in 1999 and is the only two-time All-American in school history. Joining Jobst as Second Team All-Americans are forwards Zac Dalpe (2010), RJ Umberger (2003) and Perry Pooley (1984) and goalie Jeff Maund (1999).
