Buckeyes and Wolverines to Face Off in B1G Tournament Semifinals
The No. 6-ranked Ohio State men's hockey team will host No. 12 Michigan in a Big Ten Tournament semifinal game at 7:30 p.m. Saturday in Nationwide Arena in Columbus. BTN will televise the contest, with Ohio State radio also on the call.
Ohio State, the No. 2 seed in the tournament, defeated No. 7 Michigan State, 6-2 and 4-3 OT, in a quarterfinal best-of-three series. Look back at the series sweep. No. 3 seed Michigan swept No. 6 Wisconsin, 6-5 and 7-4, to open the tournament.
No. 1 seed Notre Dame, which had a first round bye, will host No. 4 seed Penn State, which beat Minnesota (5-3, 6-5) in the quarterfinals, in the other semifinal game Saturday at 5:30 p.m., televised by ESPNU.
The highest remaining seed from the semifinals will host the Big Ten Tournament championship game March 17. Should Ohio State be the host of the championship game, it will be played in Nationwide Arena.
Tickets to the semifinal game in Nationwide Arena, $20 for adults and $15 for youth/child, will go on sale to the general public at 10 a.m. Monday. Tickets can be purchased online through OhioStateBuckeyes.com or at the Schottenstein Center or Nationwide Arena ticket office.

Buckeyes vs. Wolverines
Ohio State was 4-0 vs. Michigan in the regular season. In Ann Arbor Thanksgiving weekend, the Buckeyes posted 3-2 and 5-1 wins. In Columbus Jan. 26-27, Ohio State won 4-0 and 5-3.
The game Saturday will be the first between the teams in the Big Ten Tournament. The teams met in the CCHA Tournament 12 times, with the Wolverines ahead, 10-2. Saturday will be the first postseason game between the teams in Columbus.
The squads last met in the postseason in the 2005 CCHA Tournament championship game in Joe Louis Arena, a 4-2 win by the Wolverines. In 2004, the Buckeyes beat Michigan 4-2 for the tournament title at The Joe.
The teams met in the CCHA semifinals in 1998 (a 4-2 Ohio State win), 1999 (a 3-2 UM victory) and 2003 (a 3-0 UM win), with all three games in Detroit.
Ohio State and Michigan met in Nationwide Arena, home of the Columbus Blue Jackets, March 6, 2016, a 6-5 Buckeye win in overtime, as well as March 2, 2014, a 4-3 Wolverine victory.
