Buckeye Rookie Craig Dalrymple Named CCHA Gladiator Defenseman of the Week

COLUMBUS, Ohio - Craig Dalrymple, a freshman on the Ohio State men's hockey team, has been named the CCHA Gladiator Defenseman of the Week, the league announced Monday. Dalrymple had three points, blocked six shots and was +2 in the Buckeyes' series split at No. 3 Miami last weekend to close the regular season.
Friday, Dalrymple had an assist in the Buckeyes' 3-0 victory before posting his first career multiple-point game Saturday with a goal and an assist. He was not on the ice for a goal against, was +1 in each game and blocked three shots in each contest vs. the RedHawks.
Dalrymple, who has played in all 36 Buckeye games, leads Ohio State's defensemen and freshmen with 14 points, including 11 assists, and he is on a four-game assist and point streak. He is tied for fourth in scoring among all CCHA rookie defensemen, ranking third in plus/minus with a +7 mark. He has been even or better in the last seven games, with five +1 games in the stretch.
The Buckeyes earned a first-round bye in the CCHA playoffs and will return to action March 15-17 when they host Ferris State in a best of three series in the tournament quarterfinals in the OSU Ice Rink in Columbus.
