Jeff Deits

Jeff Deits MA, AT, CSCS, CES, PES begins his fourth complete season as the athletic trainer for the men's hockey program at Ohio State. Deits, who spent three years (2007-10) with the Buckeye hockey program, returned to the Buckeye staff after spending the past three years at Wichita State.

In addition to his responsibilities with the hockey program, Deits also is the athletic trainer for the cheerleading squad at Ohio State.

Deits earned his master's degree in sport humanities from Ohio State in 2009 and a bachelor's degree in sport and exercise science with an emphasis in athletic training from Northern Colorado in 2007. Deits currently holds certifications as a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist, Corrective Exercise Specialist and Performance Enhancement Specialist.

He had internships with the Central Hockey League's Colorado Eagles and the San Diego Chargers of the National Football League before his first stint at Ohio State.

Deits lives in Columbus with his wife, Amanda, and daughters, Claire and Chloe.
