McCormick Named CCHA Rookie of the Week

Max McCormick, a forward for the No. 17-ranked Ohio State men's hockey team, has been named the CCHA Gongshow Rookie of the Week, the Central Collegiate Hockey Association announced Monday. This is the second league award for De Pere, Wis., native McCormick, who had three points in the Buckeyes' series at Western Michigan over the weekend.

Two Alex Carlson goals in the final 5:24 of the third period helped the No. 15 Ohio State men's hockey team to a 4-3 victory over No. 18 Western Michigan Saturday night in Lawson Ice Arena in Kalamazoo, Mich. The win gives the Buckeyes (15-11-5, 11-10-5-1 CCHA) a split of their series with Western Michigan (15-12-5, 12-9-3-3 CCHA).
