Columbus, Ohio – Head coach Rustam Sharipov announced that 20 members of the Ohio State men’s gymnastics currently have GPAs of 3.0 higher after this past semester.

The cumulative team GPA for the semester was a 3.352, the highest of any semester for the men’s gymnastics team since Sharipov arrived in Columbus.

“I’m really proud of our team and continuing quest to be the best team in the nation academically,” Sharipov said. “I think we’re getting closer and closer to achieving that feat.”

Joey Wilmot and Samuel DeWitt are the trendsetters in the classroom for Ohio State. Both Wilmot and DeWitt maintain perfect 4.0 GPAs.

The 2018 season is quickly approaching for Ohio State, who is ranked No. 3 in the preseason College Gymnastics Association preseason poll. The Buckeyes will kick of the 2018 slate in Colorado Springs at the Rocky Mountain Open on Jan. 13.
