COLUMBUS, Ohio - The Ohio State men's gymnastics team was ranked fourth in the CGA Preseason Coaches' Poll, earning its first Top 5 ranking in the poll since the 2009 season.
The Buckeyes represent one of seven Big Ten schools ranked within the Top 10. The conference is the most represented league in the poll as Michigan, Penn State, Illinois, Iowa, Minnesota and Nebraska also received votes.
Defending national champion Michigan earned a unanimous No. 1 ranking, including all 11 first-place votes. Behind Michigan, Oklahoma and Stanford were ranked second and third, respectively.
The Buckeyes are the second-highest ranked Big Ten team in the poll at No. 4. Penn State and Illinois tied at No. 5, while Iowa (No. 8), Minnesota (No. 9) and Nebraska (No. 10) rounded out the top ten teams .
Ohio State opens the 2013-14 season with the Scarlet and Gray Exhibition Dec. 18 at 2 p.m.
