Ohio State Places 75 Student-Athletes on Winter Academic All-Big Ten Team

The men's swimming and diving team led the way with 28 honorees

2012 (Freshman Season): Did not compete for the Buckeyes; named an Ohio State Scholar-Athlete.

Prior to Ohio State: Two-time national qualifier and national event competitor ... coached by DeRon McIntyre on OSU Boy's team as an all-around competitor.

Personal: Son of Richard and Kimberly Barnes ... has one sibling, Hayley ... plans to attend law school after completion of undergraduate studies ... favorite pastimes include the outdoors, movies, music, friends and sports ... lists greatest sports thrill as coming back from a near season-ending injury and qualifying for nationals during senior year of high school ... member of the Ohio State Politics, Society and Law Scholars Program.
