2015-16 (Senior Season): Claimed a silver medal on high bar with a score of 14.550 at the Big Ten Event Finals (April 2), good for Second Team All-Big Ten honors ... competed on high bar (third, 14.350) and parallel bars (14.550) at the Big Ten Team Championships (April 1) ... performed on parallel bars and high bar in a tri-meet with Oklahoma and Air Force (March 7) … competed on floor, parallel bars and high bar at the Arnold Challenge (March 1) ... represented the Buckeyes at Winter Cup (Feb. 18) ... finished third on floor against Penn State (Feb. 13) with a season-best score of 15.000; also competed on parallel bars (14.700) and high bar ... tied for second on parallel bars with a personal-best 14.900 and competed on high bar in a dual meet against Michigan (Jan. 30) ... competed on parallel bars (team-best 14.600) and high bar at the Cal/Stanford tri meet (Jan. 24) ... also contested parallel bars and high bar at the Windy City Invitational (Jan. 17) ... 2014-15 (Junior Season): Earned the second All-America award of his career with an eighth-place finish on high bar at the NCAA event finals (April 11) ... competed on rings, parallel bars and won high bar with a 15.150 at the NCAA team final (April 10) ... tied for fifth on high bar and competed on parallel bars and rings at the NCAA qualifier (April 9) ... Big Ten high bar champion with a season-best score of 15.325 at the Big Ten event finals (March 28) ... third place on high bar with a 15.050 at the Big Ten team finals (March 27); also competed on rings and parallel bars ... featured on rings and high bar against Oklahoma (March 14) ... earned a second-place finish on high bar (15.200) at the Arnold Challenge (March 7); also tied for fourth on rings and parallel bars ... competed on rings and high bar vs. Michigan (Feb. 28) ... represented Ohio State at Winter Cup (Feb. 19) ... featured on rings and parallel bars at Penn State ... competed on parallel bars and rings against Illinois (Jan. 24) ... represented OSU at the 2014 P&G championships ... competed at the 2014 U.S. National Qualifier ... 2013-14 (Sophomore Season): Earned his first career All-American award with a sixth-place finish on high bar at the NCAA championships ... tallied a personal-best 14.950 to finish third on rings in Ohio State's tri-meet victory over No. 1 Oklahoma and Temple; also placed second on high bar ... posted a career-best 15.450 to win the high bar at No. 2 Michigan ... scored a personal-best 15.200 in the floor exercise to finish third overall at the Arnold Challenge.
2012-13 (Freshman Season): Competed in six meets for the Buckeyes ... opened his collegiate career on rings and high bar against Michigan (Feb. 16) ... followed that meet with a first-place finish on high bar (15.20), second-place finish on parallel bars (14.35) and 10th-place finish on rings against Illinois (Feb. 23) ... placed first on high bar (15.05) and fourth on parallel bars (14.10) against UIC March 9 ... placed 10th overall in the second session at the NCAA Qualifier April 19 with a 14.20 ... posted a 14.20 on high bar at the NCAA Team Finals April 20.
Prior to Ohio State: Trained and competed an as all-around gymnast with the OSU Boys Club under coach DeRon McIntyre... Region 5 team member (2010-11) ... earned Top 10 finishes at the VISA Championships (2010-11) ... finished in second place on floor exercise at VISA Championships (2010) ... Region 5 Champion and Ohio State Champion (2010).
Personal: Son of Rich and Jill Johnson ... has two siblings, Kayla and Kristin ... plans to be a pediatric nurse practitioner after completion of undergraduate studies ... lists greatest sports thrill as getting ready to mount the equipment knowing that he's trained for that moment and it all comes down to the performance.
