Noting the buckeyes

  • This will be the first time the Buckeyes are playing in the Dayton Intercollegiate
  • This is Ohio State’s third event in the state of Ohio this fall (Inverness Intercollegiate and the Bearcat Invitational)
  • Daniel Wetterich is playing the best golf of his Buckeye career. He finished in the top-5 at both the Inverness Intercollegiate and the Bearcat Invitational which were the first top-5 finishes of his career. He fired a round of 8-under 63 in the second round at the Bearcat Invitational tied for 3rd in the event at 10-under par – both are career bests.
  • Wetterich was named the Big Ten’s Golfer of the Week on Sept. 27 for his efforts at the Bearcat Inv.
  • Wetterich leads the team through the first four events with a 69.82 scoring average and eight of his 11 rounds have been at par or better.
  • Freshman Kevin Stone will be making his collegiate debut this week and will be playing No. 4 in the Buckeye lineup.
  • Ohio State opened the season for the second-straight year at The Carmel Cup at famed Pebble Beach Golf Links. Juniors Will Grimmer and Caleb Ramirez led the Buckeyes as they tied for 23rd at 3-under par.
  • The under-par finish at the Carmel Cup was the first of Caleb Ramirez’s career and he was subsequently named the Big Ten Golfer of the Week on Sept. 6.
  • Ohio State boasted two of the Big Ten’s four golfers of the week for the month of September.
