Men's Golf Finishes Fourth at Gary Koch Invitational

COLUMBUS, Ohio--The Ohio State men's golf team placed fourth at the Cleveland Golf/Gary Koch Invitational on Tuesday at Old Memorial Golf Course in Tampa, Fla. The Buckeyes totaled a 5-under par 271in the second round of the tournament to capture their second Top 5 finish of the 2002-03 season. The tournament was called midway through the third round because of threatening weather.

The Buckeyes were led by Zach Doran (Jr., Dublin, Ohio) as he shot a final round score of 71 to finish the tournament at (-9). Doran completed the tournament tied for first place overall with Vanderbilt golfer Brandt Snedeker.

The University of Florida, who played host to the event, won the tournament with a combined score of 564 over the two rounds of play.

The Buckeyes will return to action Oct. 21-22 at the Aztec Invitational in San Diego, Calif., to defend their title from the 2001 season.
