COLUMBUS, Ohio. – Ohio State junior Caleb Ramirez has been named the Big Ten Men’s Golfer of the Week for his performance over the weekend at the season-opening Carmel Cup.
Playing at one of America’s most famed courses, Pebble Beach Golf Links, Ramirez enjoyed the best tournament of his career. He posted rounds of 73-70-70 for a 3-under par 213 finish. That was the first tournament of his career in which he finished below par and is tied for his lowest 54-hole score. His second and third round 70s also marked the second time in his career he posted back-to-back under-par rounds.
This was the first Player of the Week honors of Ramirez’s career. The last Buckeye to earn POW honors was Will Grimmer last fall.
