COLUMBUS, Ohio – Buckeye teammates Will Grimmer and Caden Orewiler will be among 312 golfers competing for the 2017 U.S. Amateur Championship (August 14-20) at the Riviera Country Club and Bel-Air Country Club in Southern California. Both qualified for the international event after earning medalist honors in their respective sectional qualifiers.

Orewiler punched his ticket first, carding an even-par 142 on July 10 at the Moraine Country Club in Dayton, Ohio, to best the field by four strokes. Grimmer officially joined him in the U.S. Amateur field on the strength of a 4-under 136 in the Camargo Golf Club sectional (July 18 in Cincinnati).
Competition begins Monday, August 14, the first of two stroke play rounds. Following 36 holes, the top-64 players advance to a match play bracket to determine the 2017 champion. Match play runs from August 16-20 with the 36-hole championship match conclusion aired live on Fox from 4:30-7:30 p.m. ET. The full television coverage schedule can be found below:
