COLUMBUS, Ohio - Ohio State men's golf head coach Donnie Darr announced the signing of Frederik Hammer to a National Letter of Intent. Hammer is set to join the Buckeyes for the 2013-14 season.
"I'm very excited to have Frederik join our team this fall," Darr said. "He brings a wealth of international experience to our program. During his visit, he loved Columbus and fit in great with the team. I am really looking forward to watching him compete over the next four years, as he has the potential to be an elite player."
Hammer joins the squad from Copenhagen, Denmark, bringing international experience to Ohio State. He was a member of the 2009 Danish team that won the European Boys Team Championship title and placed tied for third individually at the tournament in 2010 and 2011.
Most recently, Hammer finished in the tied for 5th at the 2012 Danish International Amateur Championship and tied for 11th at the 2012 Danish Men's Championship.
With the addition of Hammer, four will join the Buckeyes in 2013-14. Clark Engle, Nicholas Jan and Josh Wick signed NLIs in November of 2012.
